AUT Certificate in Teaching Modules 3 & 4
Required Pathway (New Permanent/Fixed Term Academic Colleagues)
AUT Certificate in Teaching takes place over one semester. Modules 1-5 are cohesively designed to provide colleagues with the ‘essentials’ to confidently meet the challenges of teaching for the first time, whilst enhancing their educational practice. Module 3 Assessing Learning provides participants with the opportunity to discuss good principles and practice in assessment design, with a focus on designing authentic assessment. This session will review the purposes of assessment and the role it can play in helping students gauge their learning progress. Module 4 Designing Feedback explores the crucial role that feedback plays in learning and in empowering students. It will look at how new approaches to feedback design, including peer to peer, can help students to implement feedback and be active participants in the feedback process. Participants must have completed Modules 1 and 2 before attending this session.
